St Cecilia Choir of Girls

The St Cecilia Choir of Girls was founded in 1952, and is open to girls in third through twelfth grade.  The group has a strong tradition of mentoring, and the senior girls enjoy looking after the younger members, through example and advice.  They perform both on their own, and with the men and teen boys.

Admission is by a simple voice trial, consisting of voice and ear tests.  No previous musical knowledge or training is expected, although enthusiasm and teamwork is!  Rehearsals are Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5 until 6pm.

Rehearsals: Mondays and Wednesdays, 5-6pm

“Choir has been a true blessing for Drew and our family. From the first day, Drew was welcomed with open arms and smiles and that brought her back. Choir is such a supportive community and she is getting a world class music education. Those two together are a parents dream but at 14, it is all about Drew's experience. She cannot wait to go to every rehearsal and her commitment and dedication has shone through. A sense of importance and responsibility in what she is doing, to serve God and her Church, has been an amazing growth experience for her this year. And she has made terrific friendships under the guidance of the choir directors who are so encouraging. And getting to know the other choristers in other choirs and the choir families has been great fun - we are all in it together!”
