Novice Program

In their first year, boy and girl choristers in third through fifth grade begin with short sessions once a week, gradually transitioning into the full schedule.  They learn the basics of singing and musical notation while being mentored by experienced older chorister.

After a few months, parents and staff assess whether the full commitment to the choir is right for them.  At a ceremony in church, they are formally admitted to the choir by the Rector, and receive their hymnal and surplice (a white garment signifying that they are now full choristers).

Choristers who join in sixth grade or older usually will receive their initial training through attendance at the main rehearsals.
