Annual Appeal
All things come of thee, O Lord, and of thine own have we given thee - 1 Chronicles 29:14
The Annual Appeal is our annual fund drive, held each Fall, during which parishioners are asked to reflect on their blessings and, in thanksgiving, pledge a portion of them to the Church to further its mission. This year the appeal emphasizes the cycle of giving in its slogan “Grace begets Gratitude begets Generosity”.
The Appeal provides 70% of the revenues for the parish’s annual operating budget. The Finance Commission assesses the level of financial support for the upcoming year to plan its budget. After review, the Vestry approves the budget and presents it at the Annual Meeting in late January. (Parishioners are welcome to call the Business Office to request a copy of the parish’s budget.)
The button in the upper right corner of this screen has the church’s shield placed over the numbers 52/50. It stands for our operating budget’s goal of providing services and programs that cost $50 a week for 52 weeks of the year, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for each family. That turns out to be about $2,600 a year and is the level of support that our donor families provide for all who come here. In good times as well as bad, from birth to death.
Pledging
A pledge is a non-binding statement of the amount your household intends to give during the upcoming year and may be adjusted at any time by contacting the . Parishioners determine their pledge level in response to their blessings, often expressing this gratitude by pledging a proportion of their annual household income.
When do I pledge?
All parishioners receive a pledge packet by mail in mid-October and are asked to submit their pledge card on Commitment Sunday in late October. In this way, parishioners plan their giving for the upcoming year and live into their pledge.
How do I make a Pledge?
Fill out a pledge card that you will receive in the mail or find in the pews, the lower hallway or in the Stewardship Office. Or you may download one from our website. Please be certain to print your name clearly as well as write your signature on the card.
How do I pay a pledge?
Payment of a pledge may be made at the same time as its submission or at regular intervals throughout the upcoming year, using electronic banking withdrawals, credit card payments, checks, offering envelopes or transferring marketable securities. Gifts that are not tied to a pledge are also welcome.
How does the church record my pledge and gifts?
All pledges and gift levels are kept in confidence by the Rector’s, Stewardship, and Business Offices. All gifts are tax deductible to the full extent of the law and are gratefully acknowledged by letter and quarterly statements.
