“I write to you, young people, because you are strong and the word of God abides in you….” (1 John 2:14)
Christ Church Greenwich seeks to support and engage youth and students in our community with meaningful, fun and thought-provoking faith exploration and fellowship as well as worship, prayer and service opportunities. With all the changes, challenges and joys of life in middle school and high school, we are called as the Body of Christ in the church and world to be present companions on the journey. Our worship, programs and activities provide sanctuary places, both within and beyond the church, for all young people to ask challenging questions about life and faith. Christ Church’s ministry with youth and students meets the real desire to explore our agency in the world and to develop deeper relationships with each other, a community of faith, the world and a God who so greatly desires to be in relationship with us that God became Incarnate in Christ and walked among us.
Our programs run September through May. They include confirmation classes for youth in 7th and 8th grades, weekly Bibles and Bagels for those in 6th through 8th grades and participation in the Teen Midnight Run Program for those in high school. This year we will begin a new ministry of care packages and correspondence to students in our community who attend boarding schools and college away from home.
Regardless of our age, as we seek nourishment for our journey in faith we also seek companions who will accompany us through life’s celebrations and sorrows in the midst of our joy and our suffering. God with us, in Christ, is our hope and promise of this presence and companionship so that we might, along with our youth, bear witness to the love of God in a broken world.

Sundays, 10:10 am - 10:50 am Family Room
On Sundays 6th-8th graders are invited to join us as companions on the journey of faith exploring their faith in community with each other and folks from Christ Church. With fun activities and fellowship we will wander through the Bible and also delve into questions and conversations about our faith and lives.
Mondays, 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
The Rev. Jenny Owen will be at a coffee shop or diner on Monday afternoons to just say “hey,” chat, lament, laugh, pray and what-not with youth in our community. She plans to be regularly at the Starbucks near Whole Foods (78 East Putnam Avenue), but this may change as Jenny gets settled. Jenny will be the one at a table in a white collar with a book, iPhone and a cup of some yummy beverage.
Christ Church Choirs
Along with younger children and adults, youth in middle and high school come together to lift their voices in praise and worship of God in the choirs of Christ Church Greenwich. Our choirs play a central role in the worship life of our congregation at weekly Eucharists and Choral Evensongs as well as performing in concerts and occasionally going on tour. Please visit the music section of our website for more details on the different choirs and auditions.
Mission & Service
“Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.” Matthew 25:40
In our baptismal covenant we are called to seek and serve Christ in all persons. Mission and service are an essential part of our life as Christians in the world. Christ Church Greenwich seeks to connect its youth with meaningful mission and service ministries in Greenwich and beyond. These ministries include serving with other guilds and ministries of our parish, such as serving as acolytes at Sunday worship. The Teen Midnight Run Program is a ministry that provides food and clothing to the homeless in New York City. In years past, youth have joined mission trips where they have ministered with others to build camp facilities. It is our hope that by entering into ministry with others, rather than for others, our youth will have the chance to see how through their faith they can be instruments of God’s love and empowered agents of change in a hurting and broken world.
