“Blessed are those who plant shade trees under which they know full well they will never sit.”
...and so it is with legacy gifts, providing resources to sustain the ongoing ministries of Christ Church Greenwich for future generations.
The recent celebration of the Centennial of the 1910 buildings reminds us of the generosity of previous generations to entrust us with the legacy of Christ Church Greenwich. With a gift to the Arbor Society, you can honor this heritage and preserve this legacy for future generations.
What is the Arbor Society?
The Legacy Gift Program at Christ Church Greenwich
Its symbol, the tree, represents the deep roots and sheltering branches of our faith and this sacred home, Christ Church Greenwich.
A tree represents longevity and by making a planned gift to The Arbor Society you can make a final testament about the importance of your faith and perpetuate the good work our Church has done and needs to continue to do here at 254 East Putnam Avenue, and in the greater community.
How can I make a legacy gift?
There are many opportunities to make a planned gift. The simplest is to remember Christ Church Greenwich in your will. This bequest may be a specific amount or percentage of your estate and could provide unrestricted support to the Church or be designated to a specific program that is meaningful to you.
Some other ways to remember Christ Church Greenwich in your estate plan include gifts through Life Insurance Policies, IRA’s or other retirement plans which can be beneficial in reducing your estate tax liability.
Another vehicle for legacy giving is to establish a life income gift which allows you to continue to receive income during your lifetime.
There are many options that pay income to you for a specified period, after which the assets are distributed to Christ Church Greenwich, providing tax savings and possibly increasing your income while allowing you to make a meaningful gift.
